Cafe Carumba

Café Carumba fuses ingredients from the Americas to create a unique Scottsdale restaurant experience. This restaurant had traditionally been open for breakfast and lunch. It was botched by poor remodels and was looking very tired. The challenge was to open it up by removing the dropped ceilings, create a coffee bar/dinner side and then a reinvigorated lunch area and conference room. One design problem was that the restrooms were on the lunch side and patrons would have to walk through a potentially empty area to get to them. We came up with a concept of a Latin city scene, with merchandising as a focal point, to guide the patrons down the hall.  Decorative one of kind fixtures and furniture was used to create a unique “anti-chain�? home made space.
